“And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was.” (Hebrews 5:4)
With great joy and thanksgiving to our Lord Jesus Christ, St. Mary & St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church invites all members of our congregation to join us in celebrating the ordination of two new priests for our Diocese.
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at St. Mary & St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, Deacon Pishoy Makar will be ordained as a priest to serve St. Mary & St. Mark Church, and Deacon Ghabriel Habeeb will be ordained as a priest to serve St. Moses the Strong Church.
The ordination prayers will be led by His Eminence Metropolitan Demetrius, Metropolitan of Malawi, and His Grace Bishop Saraphim, Bishop of Ohio, Michigan and Indiana, in the presence of most, if not all, of the priests of our Diocese.
All members of the congregation are warmly invited to attend this blessed and historic occasion. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until the church reaches capacity. Deacons from high school age and older are welcome to participate. (Elementary and middle school deacons will not be serving as deacons at this event.)
Please join us in praying for Deacon Pishoy and Deacon Ghabriel as they begin their priestly ministry, that God may grant them wisdom, humility, faithfulness, and many fruitful years of service in His Holy Church.
May the Lord bless this sacred day and strengthen His servants for the work to which He has called them.
